To Retreat is to Renew

Imagine a full week where you are not required to do any cooking, cleaning, working, or any of your other normal weekly chores. Sounds like a vacation, right? But now imagine all that PLUS a private chef comes to cook you delicious, nourishing meals every single day—removing the stress of having to chose and pay for daily meals, a wonderful staff cleans and refreshes your space every day, a private yoga instructor guides you through daily meditation and yoga practice, and you get to enjoy it all a beautiful, warm location which embeds open air spaces to connect to the surrounding nature and wildlife—in places like this:

Sounds like a dream right? Well that is exactly what you can expect to experience on our 2026 yoga retreats in Akumal, Mexico and Jaco, Costa Rica and you can make this dream come true by booking one with us now.

While you’re considering a yoga retreat with us, you might be wondering “what makes a yoga retreat different than just booking a regular vacation?” Trust me, I thought the same years ago before my first yoga retreat. And let me tell what I have learned and experienced: A yoga retreat is unlike any vacation you’ve ever taken before. It is not merely a one-week break in a beautiful location that you explore. It is a full week of rest for your body, mind, and soul where you will explore inwards and leave feeling renewed and inspired.

The best way to describe a yoga retreat is to look at the meaning of “retreat.” To retreat is defined as “an act of moving back or withdrawing.” It is not a surrender, but a time to slow down, reflect on where you are, and give yourself time to determine how you would like to move forward. And that is exactly what a yoga retreat provides you.

When you are on a yoga retreat, you will find that, by eliminating your normal daily tasks of working, cooking, and cleaning, you free up so much time and consequently, free up space in your mind from not having to think about those tasks. As such, instead of working on your never ending to-do list, you get to take a pause from everything. You get to spend every moment of your day entirely however you chose to spend it. You get to live and enjoy fully in the present moment. A yoga retreat truly is your space and time for to find whatever you are looking for. And most often then not, through the daily yoga and meditation, you will find that everything you are looking for is already within you.

Yoga is a unique tool that occupies your physical body with movement so that your mind is given space to calm and you are given space to get to truly know yourself. This idea, Swadhyaya—the study of oneself—comes from yoga philosophy outlined in Pantajali’s 8 limbs of yoga and it is key to living a peaceful life. Because when you know yourself, you find that your peace, your passion, your love and kindness is already there. Your path that you’re questioning, your intuition already knows where you need to go—you just have to slow down and listen. You are all that you need. BUT you must give yourself time for that inner reflection, and there’s no better place to do this than on a yoga retreat.
